A week in review

Watching out the window as the cold morning changes to warm days. Pizza "lunchable" of the homemade type has been a highly requested lunch. Staying up late watching movies and eating popcorn. Curing boredom with a fall still life and new art supplies.

Black Hat Bash

It feels like Halloween is a month long event of parties, and festivities. I love that! It is the start of the magic of all the holidays. The sheer excitement of childhood wonder.

Bedtime

This kid gives tucking into bed a whole new meaning. She is practicing her Sailor Venus transformation, and not quietly either.

Emma loves sleep, and we joke that teenage years are going to be tough. Claire on the other hand, last kid to sleep and first kid up. She goes full speed all the time, please no one ever caffeinate this child, just their mother.

Art vs. Art

Our art community has a paint day where artist spend one day painting, and then they are entered in an art based showdown. Dad was there to volunteer, so the girls got to paint. They had so much fun!

Big Band Baby

On the fourth we were so lucky to have an orchestra entertain the girls while we were waiting for fireworks. Claire was made for big band!

Fudgesicle

We made these fudgesicles. They were amazing! I also added a big scoop of mint ice cream to the pudding to help stretch the mix out and add a fun minty flavor.

Claire had to make sure it was good before we molded them.

Ready to freeze!

Kid tested.

Kid approved.

Summer Reading

It is not summer until you sign up for summer reading! I figured it was time for the girls to have their very own library cards.

So excited to fill out her paperwork.

Signing the back.

Proud owners of their new library cards. Let the summer reading program begin!

Watermelon Popsicles

We made these, but with plain yogurt.
They were a bit strange for me. However, the girls loved them.

Sidewalk paint to the rescue

It was the time of day when there was still work to do, but the kids were done entertaining themselves.
Sidewalk paint to the rescue! It bought us another hour of chore time!
Sidewalk paint is 1 part cornstarch 1 part water and food color to tint.
